Jabari Stafford

Managing Director at Philadelphia Tennis Club

Jabari Stafford has devoted his life to racquet sports, transforming a passion discovered in childhood into a lasting and purposeful career. From competing in ATP-ranked tournaments to directing programs at some of the country’s most respected clubs, his journey reflects consistency, teamwork, and a deep commitment to growth within the game and its community.

Throughout his career, Jabari has held prominent roles, including Director of Operations at Jamira Tennis Center, Managing Director at the Philadelphia Tennis Club, and Racquets Professional and Pickleball Coordinator at Lancaster Country Club, one of America’s Top 30 Platinum Clubs. His leadership blends athletic experience with a strong sense of organization and mentorship, helping players improve their performance while strengthening the bonds that unite their sporting communities.

Raised in Philadelphia, Jabari developed a love for tennis at a young age, shaped by the values of focus, discipline, and perseverance. These principles continue to guide his coaching and leadership style, emphasizing the connection between athletic skill and personal development. He views racquet sports not only as a form of competition but as a space to build confidence, character, and collaboration.

His journey began at the age of five when he started training with his sister, Emira, at the Arthur Ashe Youth and Tennis Center. Encouraged by their father, they practiced at a private facility he built for them, which later became the Jamira Tennis Center. The name, created from the siblings’ first names, symbolizes family and unity. Under Jabari’s leadership, the center evolved into a cornerstone of Philadelphia’s tennis community, offering training programs, fitness sessions, and player development opportunities. His player-centered teaching philosophy fostered engagement and steady improvement at both recreational and competitive levels.

During his time at George Washington University, Jabari balanced academics in Business Administration and Finance with competing as a Division I athlete. His college career helped refine his strategic thinking and leadership abilities. After graduation, he joined the ATP and ITF circuits, competing in more than 20 countries and gaining valuable international experience that later shaped his coaching approach.

Today, at Lancaster Country Club, Jabari Stafford continues to lead through mentorship and innovation. For him, racquet sports represent growth, discipline, and connection, a lifelong pursuit that continues to inspire others.
